Allen Jeremias, MD, MSc, is the Director of Interventional Cardiology Research and Associate Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. He is also a member of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation in New York City where he currently serves as the Director of the Physiology Core Laboratory. He completed his medical training at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Stanford University School of Medicine, and Harvard Medical School. He has been a high volume interventional cardiologist since 2006 and recognized as a Top Doctor in the New York Metro Area by Castle Connolly. Dr. Jeremias has significantly contributed to advancing the field of interventional cardiology and he is considered one of the foremost authorities in coronary physiology and intravascular imaging. He is a co-director of the annual St. Francis Intravascular Imaging and Coronary Physiology Workshop, teaching physicians around the world on “Precision Angioplasty”. Dr. Jeremias is presently engaged in a major global study that could change the path of treating clogged arteries. Known as the ILUMIEN IV trial, this major clinical study is evaluating Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to guide coronary stent placement. He is also the principal investigator of DEFINE PCI, an international study on assessing the improvement in blood flow after stent placement for severe coronary blockages.

Prof Hitoshi Matsuo is currently President of Gifu Heart Center,
and Clinical Visiting Professor of Cardiology in Aichi Medical University. He graduated from Jichi Medical School in 1986 and completed his residency in Gifu Prefectural Gifu Hospital. In 1987, during his residency period, Prof Hitoshi Matsuo spent one year at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore as a research fellow in the Nuclear Medicine Department under the supervision of Professor Henry N Wagner Jr. From 1988, he returned to Gifu Prefectural Hospital where he dedicated clinical research work on physiology and interventional cardiology using nuclear medicine and pressure wires. He received an annual award of Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine in 1995 and the Clinical Research Award of Japanese Society of Interventional Cardiology in 2004. Thereafter, he moved to Toyohashi Heart Center as co-director of the catheterization laboratory from 2007 and returned to Gifu as the Director of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2009. Dr Matsuo now participates and contributes to many international multi-center trials including DEFINE-FLAIR, the international multicenter FFRCT registry (ADVANCE registry), 3V-FFR FRIENDS study and FAVOR2 Europe and Japan, DEFINE FLOW study.

Prof Javier Escaned is Head of Section (Interventional Cardiology Section) at Hospital Clinico San Carlos / Complutense University (Madrid, Spain). He trained in the United Kingdom as Specialist in Cardiology and obtained his PhD in The Netherlands. Author of >700 indexed scientific articles on interventional cardiology, imaging and physiology (h-index 100) and over 30 years of experience as PCI operator, he regularly lectures and performs live cases at major scientific and educational meetings. He is a recipient of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Silver Medal and the Andreas Grüntzig Award for his contributions to the fiedl fo Interventional Cardiology. Main areas of expertise include complex PCI, intracoronary diagnostics and functional coronary angiography. His track record in coronary physiology comprises being investigator on pioneer FFR trials like DEFER (1998), collaborator with Justin Davies in the validation and clinical implementation of iFR, and developer of new tools for the assessment of coronary microcirculation. Editorial roles include Deputy Editor EHJ, Advisory Editor Eurointervention, editor of the textbooks “Coronary Stenosis: Imaging, Structure and Physiology” and “Physiological Assessment of Coronary Stenoses and the Microcirculation". Recent board positions include EAPCI board / Education Committee Chair, ESC WG Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation, EuroCTO Board. Recent trials as Principal Investigator include ADVISE II, DEFINE FLAIR, SYNTAX II, PIONEER IV, Cerebral-Coronary-Connection (C3), DCR4Contrast, INOCA LongCovid and AID ANGIO. Additional interests are philosophy and music.

Dr Justin Davies is a board member of Monaco Cardio at the Princess Grace Hospital, Monaco, and an interventional cardiologist with over 15 years of experience as a leading educator in the field. His clinical and academic career was established at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London, where he built an international reputation for innovation in cardiovascular medicine. Over the course of his career, he has successfully mentored 15 PhD students, published more than 500 peer-reviewed papers — including landmark studies in the New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet — and holds 20 patents in cardiovascular medicine and technology. He was the co-principal investigator of the DEFINE-FLAIR study, which helped establish iFR (Instantaneous Wave-Free Ratio), a diagnostic technique he invented, as a globally adopted standard in coronary physiology. His work reflects a unique blend of scientific innovation, academic leadership, and clinical excellence. In addition to his research and academic commitments, Justin is CEO of Cerebria AI, where he leads the development of next-generation AI-powered cardiovascular imaging and physiology tools. Under his leadership, Cerebria AI is advancing cutting-edge solutions that integrate artificial intelligence with frontline cardiology to enhance clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. Manesh Patel is the Chief of the Division of Cardiology and the Division of Clinical Pharmacology. His clinical interests include diagnostic and interventional coronary angiography, peripheral angiography and endovascular intervention. His is involved in several clinical trials involving patients with cardiovascular disease and in cardiac imaging. He is also the Chair of the American College of Cardiology Task Force for Appropriate Use Criteria for Cardiovascular Procedures and is Chair of the American Heart Association Diagnostic and Interventional Cath Committee. Patel's interest in cardiac imaging, quality of care, cardiac devices is also evident in his research. His integration of these efforts into his roles at Duke was recognized in 2010 when he received the prestigious Duke Cardiology Fellowship Mentor Award. In 2011, Dr. Patel was named the endowed John Bush Simpson Assistant Professor of Cardiology. In 2013, Dr. Patel received the Robert M. Califf Faculty clinical research Award. Currently, Dr. Patel is leading an effort to redesign the delivery of care to patients undergoing invasive catheterization procedures in the health system with a specific aim of measure and providing individualized, patient centered, innovative, and efficient care.

Matthias Götberg, MD, Ass. Prof. works as an interventional cardiologist and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Skane University Hospital, Lund, Sweden. Dr. Götberg has worked in the SCAAR steering committee for many years, and is currently vice chairman of the SWENTRY registry. Dr. Gotberg has been principal investigator/investigator of numerous clinical trials, has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His main interests are in the field of coronary physiology, complex coronary interventions, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement.

Prof Patrick W. Serruys with respected h-index – 183 is a professor of Interventional Cardiology at the Interuniversity Cardiological Institute of the Netherlands (1988-1998) and Erasmus MC. Since 1980 he was a Director of the Clinical Research Program of the Catheterization Laboratory, Thorax Center at Erasmus University, and till April 1, 2014 (retirement date) the Head of the Interventional Department, Thorax Center, Erasmus MC (University Medical Center Rotterdam), Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Since April 2013, he holds the position of Professor of Cardiology in the Cardiovascular Science Division of the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) at the Faculty of Medicine, within the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London.He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and scientific council of the International College of Angiology.In 1996, he received the TCT Career Achievement Award and in 1997 he was awarded the Wenkebach Prize of the Dutch Heart Foundation. In 2000, he was awarded the Gruentzig Award of the European Society of Cardiology. In 2001, he held the Paul Dudley White Lecture at the American Heart Association in the USA. In 2004, he received the Andreas Gruentzig Award of the Swiss Society of Cardiology. In 2005, he held the 4th International Lecture at the AHA and Mikamo Lecture at the Japanese heart Association. In 2006, he received the highest award of the Clinical Council of the American Heart Association: the James Herrick Award. In 2007, he received the Arrigo Recordati International Prize (Italy) and the ICI Achievement Award (bestowed by the President of Israel – Shimon Perez). In 2008, he received the Einthoven Penning (Leiden). In 2009, he became Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Athens. In 2011, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award, bestowed by the American College of Cardiology, in recognition of many years of service and invaluable contributions to the ACC. At the end of 2011, Prof Serruys received the Ray C. Fish Award, bestowed by the Texas Heart Institute, for outstanding achievement and contribution to cardiovascular medicine. In 2012, he received a Golden Medal of the European Society of Cardiology. In 2013, he became Doctor Honoris Causa from the Complutense University of Madrid. In 2016, he became Doctor Honoris Causa of the Melbourne University, Australia. Currently he is established Professor of Interventional Medicine and Innovation at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
