Luigi Paolo Badano

Prof Badano is the director of the cardiovascular imaging unit at Istituto Auxologico Italiano, IRCCS, and professor of cardiology at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan, Italy. His clinical interests include heart valve diseases, right ventricular and atrial function, with research interests in 3D and deformation imaging echocardiography and cardiac mechanics. Prof Badano is a member of the Italian Society of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology (ESC), European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (President from 2010 to 2012), American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), and serves as a fellow of ESC and ACC Prof Badano is a regular lecturer at ESC, ACC, ASE and EuroEcho scientific meetings. He published more than 290 peer-reviewed full papers, authored 9 books. He is honorary member the British Society of Echocardiography, Romanian, Hungarian and Korean societies of cardiology. In 2013, he received the silver medal of the ESC.
