Bernard Iung

Dr Bernard Iung qualified as cardiologist in 1990 and has a Master of biostatistics and epidemiology. He has been cardiologist in Tenon Hospital (Paris, France) from 1990 to 1999 and in Bichat Hospital since1999, and Professor of Cardiology at Paris Diderot University since 2001. His main field of interest is valvular heart disease. His publications are in particular related to the analysis of the results of percutaneous mitral commissurotomy and transcatheter aortic valve implantation, infective endocarditis and the evaluation of practices in French and European registries. Dr Iung has been board member of the French Society of Cardiology (2002-2014). He chaired the Working Group on valvular heart disease of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) from 2012 to 2014. He is currently member of the ESC Committee for Practice Guidelines and of the EURObservational Research programme (European registries) since 2016. Dr Iung has been elected as ESC Board member in 2018.
